Find time to exercise on vacation

Man things can just get busy and I lose track of time. More of an excuse from me for not having posted in some time. Currently, I am traveling with family to see friends, which hasn’t happened in some time due to the pandemic. I have harped on the saying “Make time for your health, or you will have to make time for your disease” and this is important on vacation and everyday life. Working on your health is a 24/7 job and a lifestyle. You should enjoy your time away from the daily grind, and what better way to reset than the endorphins that exercise will bring?

Many find it difficult to fit exercise in as they have so much planned for their trip, but it can be done. For us, we make sure either the place we stay at has a gym or there are parks around that we can run in or walk in. When my wife and I plan a trip we typically need some sort of active activity that incorporates the area and sightseeing. Doing just a bit of extra research on the area that surrounds where you’re staying can help quite a bit.

Seeing the landscape in the area you travel can be beautiful and a good way to get some exercise while on the road!

If there is no gym, pool, or trail around? With almost every device equipped to use YouTube and with all the fitness apps out there, you could probably easily find a workout to do in the hotel room or a place nearby. Honestly, when I get exercise in during my trip I feel so much better, and a little less worried about the extra calories that I intend to take in!

It can seem like extra and take up time on the trip, but again this needs to be a lifestyle change for people. I am seeing way too many patients with high blood pressure and diabetes, because they ‘can’t do the diet and exercise changes’ that they should and want to rely on medication. Take the time to take care of yourself and you can enjoy those trips so much more!
